Breathe
In the last few weeks I had a tough season. Things were happening I did not understand, I was dealing with some health issues and my joy was decreasing. I knew something was going on in spiritual. I was engaged in more battles and my strength was draining. What was I doing wrong? In such times there is just one way to find out. I laid facedown on my mat, and told God, that I will not stand up until He explains to me, what is going on. It did not take long and He came.
He came as a Warrior and gave me an explanation and
description of the camp I am fighting for. He showed me, that His children are
divided into two camps. In the first one are Christians, who are really free
and the devil has absolutely no power over them there. In the much bigger,
second camp live Christians, who still believe lies, are tormented on regular
basis, even though at some point they have given their lives to God. I saw an
intense battle raging. Individuals from the first camp were fighting and
helping their brothers and sisters to be set free, they regularly went into the
second camp and stretched their hands toward those who were close to them. It
is hard to describe, but the atmosphere was very, very intense. Really heartbreaking
was the fact that many did not even grab the helping hand. When they did, all
attention was turned toward them and the two had to run together to break free.
What surprised me, was that the focus of the battle shifted from the prisoner to
the rescuer. The goal was to ”win the person over” for the other camp. But
there is one rule. Whatever happens, at the end of the day, you have to come back
to your home camp. I realised, that the priority of the battle is not get trapped
by the lies of the enemy and COME BACK HOME in the evening to get rest and be refreshed.
Now I could understand much better what was happening around me, it all made
sense and I decided not to step back in anything I was pursuing.
But few days later He came to me as the Lover of my soul and gave me a heart-to-heart explanation. Our eyes locked, our hearts beated as one. Then He told me: „You forgot to breathe." Really? How could I? Well, obviously I didn't stop breathing completely, but stopped breathing deeply, in a relaxing way. You know, when there is something stressfull going on and you hold your breath and wait until it's over. I forgot to take deep relaxing breaths in His Presence..
I understood that the heartbeat, eye contact and breathing represent my connection with Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. My Father's heart is setting a rhythm to my heart, it will never stop beating, He will never stop loving me so I can love others with His Love. My eyes are captivated by the beauty of the Son, the One worthy of my affection and attention. We become alive through God's breath, through His Spirit, who is here with us, in us, all around us. Like the air we breathe. Spirit is in hebrew Ruach, which means breath.
In the middle of all the battles, I forgot to rest and relax in the Spirit. Even in the toughest times you can sit back and breathe deeply in and out. Your brain and muscles will get more oxygen, your mind and strength will be renewed. And you will become more aware of His Spirit working in you. Because not by might, not by power, but by His Spirit can we overcome. (Zech 4, 6)
