I don´t want to miss a thing

It is amazing. How He listens, how He responds, how He confirms things. In the last weeks I started praying: „Lord, I don´t want to miss a thing..” suddenly I realised that I am saying the lyrics of a very famous rock song which made me feel a bit uncertain, but the Holy Spirit encouraged me to pray further. So I went on: „Lord, I don´t want to miss one smile, I don´t want to miss a single word from You, Lord, I don´t want to miss any expression on Your face, I don´t want to miss any of Your touch, any of Your feelings toward me. Lord, help me not to miss anything that You have prepared for me in Your neverending mercy and love. I don´t want to miss any instruction, any question, any joke You want to tell me. But I also don´t want to fail to bring any gift, that I am able to give to You. I don´t want to fail to give You any song, any prayer, any blessing, any fruit, anything that brings You pleasure.”

I was just crying out for the fullness of relationship with Him. I have to have it all! Because He already paid the price with His precious holy blood! I don´t want His sacrifice to be in vain in my life! Holy Spirit, help me, help me to see, to hear, to feel, to sense what Jesus wants me to do. Every day, every night, every minute of my life. I am completely Yours. With everything I am, everything I have.

Can you imagine at the end of your life coming to Heaven, Jesus standing there, with arms wide open, smiling, but with a trace of sadness in His eyes, saying: „Beloved, I had so much more for you, so much more! I wanted to talk to you more, but you didn´t make time, I had bigger dreams with you, but you didn´t trust Me, I wanted to take you deeper, but you were paralysed by fear, I wanted to show you my favour, but you would not let go the old, well-known things. I wanted to bless you more, but you had your own plan, I wanted to take you higher, but you didn´t humble yourself.”

Beloved! Is this what we want to hear when our little lives on this earth are over? I don´t want to regret anything! It always takes two to make the relationship work. The Lord is more than ready to play His part, are you ready to lose your life? Are you ready to make this relationship the first priority of your life? Because I am sure, you also don´t want to miss a thing!   

Luke 9,23-24: „Then Jesus said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”
