Your job

What you do in natural speaks a lot about what you are or will be doing in the spirit world. The Lord used my sisters and myself as an example to explain this to me.

One of my sisters is a pianist, she devoted her whole life to classical music, but in the last few years Lord used her gifts also in a different way, she started composing and recently released her first worship CD. Classical music in natural, worship in the spiritual. My other sister is a financial controller, she was born for this! She knows the state of my bank account, I usually don´t! She can help others to organise things, put a certain order to it. She is in control of finances, she knows how to make money work for her, not the other way around. She told me once, that it surprises her, how many Christians really believe, that their money is their own posession. It´s all His, she told me, we just have the privilege to steward it for a short time, for His Purposes. With me it´s pretty straightforward. I am a cardiologist, so everything is about healing the hearts. Not only the physical hearts.  The Lord is showing me a tremendous need for inner healing and deliverance outside and inside His Church. Recently I started working in a rehabilitation clinic for cardiac patients, which is in the medical world seen as a very passive and boring field, my former boss once said, that doctors working in rehabilitation are parasites! Well, I can only disagree when I see what´s happening there. One evening the Lord prompted me to look out the definition of Rehabilitation. I didn´t get any closer instructions as where to look for it, so I simply googled it. This is the first thing that came out:

1.    The action of restoring someone to health or normal life through training and therapy after imprisonment (!), addiction or illness.

2.    The action of restoring someone to former privileges or reputation after a period of disfavour.

3.    The action of restoring something that has been damaged to its former condition.

Wow, Lord, I didn´t know Google was so spiritual! It is speaking not only about individuals beeing set free, but also about the restoration of Church, His Bride, to bring back her privileges after a time of disfavour.. And it says three times it is an ACTION! Not a passive process, in rehab it is always a teamwork, people with different specialisation and gifting coming together to help the patients. I believe this is also what the Lord wants to communicate, it is time for Christians to come together to work and fight for His Bride, to establish His Kingdom in all levels of society. In the Unity of His Spirit! Imagine what will happen, when all Christian surrender completely to His Leadership.

Your influence in your workplace is much bigger than you think. I love how Charles G. Finney describes it: „Every Christian makes an impression by his conduct, and witnesses either for one side or the other. His looks, dress, whole demeanor, make a CONSTANT impression. He cannot help testifying. He is either gathering with Christ or scattering abroad. At EVERY STEP you tread on chords that will vibrate to all eternity. EVERY MOVEMENT of your lives, you are exerting a tremendous influence that will tell on the immortal interests of souls all around you.”

I won´t forget as I walked one morning to the clinic, praying as usual: „Lord, I give you my hands, my eyes, my ears, my mind, my thoughts, my emotions, please use me, sweet Holy Spirit move through me.” Of course I was expecting miracles, healings, deliverances, but His Voice told me: „Just do your job well.” Sometimes it´s just day after day doing your job to the best of your ability, with love, constantly asking Holy Spirit for guidance and advice. I love coming earlier to my workplace, when it´s peaceful and quiet, when just the beautiful cleaning ladies are there, doing their job very quietly. I love releasing His Presence, proclaiming it to be His holy ground, anointing my room and praying over the chair where my patients are later seated.

And things really happen! Just recently Lord showed me by two of my patients, after speaking to them very briefly, that their bypasses were not functioning properly, and after a two-week battle (because the older doctors had a different opinion), it was confirmed and they were treated accordingly. There was no clear medical evidence for this, but I simply knew, almost like I have seen it while looking at them. Another patient, young man after a heart attack, told me while talking to me for the first time, that he was taking cocaine and up to now he didn´t tell any doctor about it. It´s like in His Presence the truth is revealed. One lady came crying to me, describing me how her drug-addicted daughter attacked her, leaving bruises on her arms and chest. I was overwhelmed and exhausted that day, but when I prayed for her back home, I just saw her big heart and her love for her grandchildren. So the next day I told her, what a beautiful strong loving woman she is, and she looked at me, relieved, saying she was actually already doubting herself. On the last day I promised to pray for her and gave her a colourful calender with bible verses for each week. There are many other stories that He is writing. Sometimes it may feel insignificant, but the moment He moves or speaks, everything He is touching comes alive! Your words can bring life! If you are longing to see this happen in your workplace, ask Him first to give you His Love and His eyes for the people you are working with. What He sees is so different from what we see! And it is always His Love that touches people, not our good intentions. Whatever you do, wherever you work, ask the Lord how you can bring His Presence, listen to Him throughout the day and let Him use you, And He will, He is so eager to do it!

One of my friend prayed quickly when her boss lost his badge just before an important meeting. And the Holy Spirit showed her exactly where it was! When she brought it to him, he wanted to know how she found it. (People want to know!) So she told him. It can be so simple. Another friend of mine was just smiling in the elevator early in the morning on her way to her office. One of her colleagues asked her: „How come you are always so happy?” „It´s not me, it´s Jesus,” she replied. About twenty people in elevator heard this. Our Father is so good, He knows what we are capable of, He is always working, preparing the hearts of people He is sending our way. Start expecting that the Lord will use you in your workplace, ask for His wisdom, His guidance.. And you will see things... I promise 😊
