Do you trust Him?

Image
Just the third day of my stay in Nepal I got this terrible diarrhoea. It really surprised me, as I was sure nothing like that is going to happen to me. I was carefu lwith the food, washed my hands with antibacterial tissues, drank only bottled water. Just once I forgot and brushed my teeth with an unfiltered water. Well, sometimes once is enough to get you into trouble.. But even though, I was determined not to miss out on anything of our journey ahead. And my super patient friends made it possible. Making frequent stops on our trips, constantly looking for the toilets, holding my feet up after collapsing, was surely not so much fun for them either. Since I entered the country and also in the middle of this I kept hearing the quiet Voice asking: „Do you trust me? Do you REALLY trust Me?" It went on and on   and on.. I thought to myself, what an appropriate time to ask a question like this. But the Voice didn´t stop,...

Come home

It was another worship night at the end of the very hot day in our camp in Johannesburg. I was getting used to an intensity of worship, loud music, mixture of smells and uncomfortable sitting on the ground with plastic water bottles everywhere. Learning to fix my eyes on Jesus in the midst of being “on call“, my medical duties were chasing me even here. I was in a desperate need of my private sphere. Eventually it became easier and easier, His Presence was so beautiful and tangible and He always came as soon as we started worshipping. This time I heard Him saying almost audibly: „Come home!“ I thought immediately: „Lord, this is not funny! I don´t know where my home is. Do You know how many times I moved in the last six years? Five times! And I left my hometown when I was 16, so I really don´t know what You mean by home.“ But the Voice insisted: „Come home!“ So I closed my eyes and waited. Suddenly I saw a path in the wo...

Pride

This is really a big topic in my life. I admit it. And it still tries to sneak in at times. But I have the best Advisor and Helper at my side, so when the warning light goes on, I know I have to stop doing what I am doing and deal with it right away. I received my first big lesson on pride just before leaving for Harvest School of Missions in Africa. When I first heard Heidi Baker speaking, I had my doubts. But there was this IF growing inside of me, telling me, that if what she says is real, it would completely change my view of God, of Christianity, of everything! And I knew I have to find out the answer for myself, whether you can experience Jesus so intimately, whether it is possible to have such a close relationship with the Father God and the Holy Spirit. Well, I decided right there to go to Mozambique and find out for myself. About two years later everything seemed to line up perfectly to make this possible. After...

Childlike faith

I love to spend time with kids. Their worldview is so uncomplicated, so pure, so open. They are always ready to discover new things, never too tired or unmotivated for a new adventure. Recently I visited a good friend of mine in Frankfurt. She had to pick her 4 year old son from kindergarten earlier that day because he was sick. When I arrived, he was sound asleep with fever of 39.5 °C, already treated with some Paracetamol. My friend was overwhelmed, their pediatritian was in holidays, her partner was in London, she had an important meeting in her workplace the following day and in two days they were planning to travel back home to Slovakia to join their family for Eastern.   As soon as I came, the little one woke up and called out my name. I came to him, hold him shortly, examined his throat, prayed over and blessed him in spirit. In about half an hour he was fully awake, in a good mood, playing and enjoying himself. The fever was gone and it did not come back. Not even ...
