I can see! (Healing I)

To me supernatural healing is an area of neverending exploration, filled with so many mysteries still to be searched out. I love all the different ways God can use to heal people and it keeps amazing me every time I see it. There are many stories to tell, but I would like to start with my own personal healing-stories. I always thought, that a proper scientist should first try the method for himself before using it on patients.

My first personal healing was not really one of the great supernatural healing miracles, but despite of it, for me it is the biggest miracle ever! I have had a poor eye-sight since my childhood, it was accidentally discovered while undergoing a preventive check-up in school, when I was 8 years old. At that time I was diagnosed with a shortsightedness with about -4 diopter.. Everyone was wondering how could I get along so far, doing well in the school,  not injurying myself, never complainig.. Well, I thought it was normal, I simply didn´t know that you can see so much clearer.

So since then I struggled with thick glasses, that were always sliding on the tip of my nose, other kids making fun of me. But much worse was the fact, that my sight kept getting worse every year and the doctors couldn´t do anything about it. As a kid, I was actually preparing myself for the worst, for loosing my sight completely, so I was learning to move around our apartment with my eyes shut, counting the steps on each floor and finally thought it would be bearable if I just would be able to keep reading. My big relief were contacts, which I started to wear when I was 13. Finally I was able to enjoy sports - swimming, dancing, skating. In between I wa praying for healing, trying out different methods, such as eye gymnastics, taking vitamin supplements, but nothing really helped. After about 15years of wearing contacts an inflammation started to occur regularly in both of my eyes. By then my dioptries were up to -13. I was recommended a surgery, brand new method, where dioptrical lenses are individually manufactured for you and implanted in the anterior eye chamber.  Imagine my excitement, there is a method that can secure me a perfect vision!! Of course, there was a possibility of various complications and I had to sign an informed consent, that I could even loose my sight completely as a result of the operation. But I was just so focused on the chance of being healed, having a clear vision without contacts or glasses, that despite of worries and warnings from my family and friends, I signed it joyfully. I had to take the risk, otherwise I would never know what could happen. And I was expecting a perfect outcome! And you know what? In two days my sight was clear and sharp like never before, no infection, no complication whatsoever. I think I was the happiest and most thankful patient in the department, enthusiastically telling the doctors, from how far away I can now recognise the tram number! 

It has been 7years now, I wear no glasses, no contacts, my vision is perfect, my eyes are full of life and I am still in awe of all of this. I am so thankful for medical advances we have nowadays, thankful for people who made it possible, but for me, it is still a miracle from above.
