Hospital stories, part II

Image
This story is really sacred and holly to me. More than one year passed, but I still stand in awe of it. At that time I was leading a small department in hospital and I learned a whole lot about not leading, but serving others. After two years I felt it is time to move on. But because of the contract conditions I had to stay and work for further 4 months. It was disappointing, because I had to work whole summer till end of September. Just later I realised, that it was, as usual, His divine timing. At that time my nurse´s mum was fighting a very tough battle with brain tumor. Cancer spread into her whole body and she was in and out her conciousness. My nurse was about 40 years old, orthodox believer, so I told her about healing services in my church. So they came, but for the old sick lady the music was too loud, she had terrible headaches and I didn´t notice when exactly, but they left pretty early. As I saw her and ...

Hospital stories, part I

Lord! I know You are the same God of Africa, Asia, Europe! You don´t make differences, You can do the same things here in Frankfurt that You are doing in Africa! I know You can! I  just came back from a mission school in Africa, Mozambique. Back in Frankfurt, I ended up working at the private station in the cardiology department.. Private patients.. Lord, You know me! That was not exactly my favorite patients´ group. But maybe this time I can do it differently. One day a very unusual patient was admitted to my station. The oncology department was full, and because she was private patient and had to be alone in a room she ended up at my station. I remember her very well, she was skinny, quiet, her lips were blue because of lack of oxygen. And she was in pain. To be honest, from medical point of view t...

Every day a giant from the army of Philistines went down to the valley and challenged the Israelites. Goliath, the giant was probably a normal man afflicted with disease called acromegaly, which is often associated with poor sight, maybe, I wonder, that´s why he needed a shield bearer? Well, he must have been much smaller and weaker than the giant, but maybe he was showing him direction to go. Goliath shouted: ,,Choose a man and have him come down to me! This day I defy the armies of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other.“ Hearing this the Israelites were di...
